Need to pick 2 pitchers out of three pitching on Sunday. My other is Wainright so he's a given.

Shields is the more highly thought of pitcher but Cueto has been absolutely on fire lately.

Thoughts?

Yeah I feel like Shields is more reliable but Cueto is more boom or bust. I should go into the weekend with a good lead and if so, I may go with Shields. If I need a lot, maybe Cueto.

Bust was a bad term. Just meant he isn't viewed as reliable as Shields.

The only time he's been unreliable is when his oblique is giving him fits, which it hasn't this year.

You probably can't go wrong with either choice though.

Cueto is in beast mode, no reason to bench him unless he gets hurt.

Back to back complete games against the Pirates and is straight dealing. Not to mention his two losses are against David Price and Adam Wainwright. Should have 3 W's if JJ Hoover doesn't blow a save against the Mets. Always continue to ride a good thing.

Cueto is like me in the backyard throwing whiffle balls. Filthy. ??

Shields has a lower ERA(1.35 to 1.41) and 1 more K than Cueto in each's last 4 starts combined.

For the record

Then he should play them both.

I only have room for 2 and the other starter Sunday is Wainright. I can't bench him.

Check that, I could bench Cashner.

Out of Cashner, Wainright, Shields, and Cueto, I should bench Cashner?

Bench shields out of that group based upon BVP history

I ended up benching Cashner so I have Shields, Cueto, and Wainright all going tomorrow.

So far looks like that right choice.

Cashner today: 6 IP, 9 hits, 4 runs, 1 walk, 5ks. Zero fantasy points.
