Why all this talk that he might transfer out. He played significant minutes this past year and shows a lot of upside. Is it a numbers issue?

Because the fact that people are completely clueless about basketball never seems to stop them from posting about it.

It's one person saying it. Don't believe it.

That's why I try not to speculate on transfers. I feel that Coach D is out of line in acting like he has legitimate reasons to believe this.

Someone has to go. We are 1 over the limit, but I dont think its Quarterman. He is our future at PG.

Im actually hearing Jayln Patterson may not qualify so that could happen.

besides a good half or two this year, he was pretty bad. what upside did you see besides him being young and fairly tall?

All of the experts think we need bigger guards to win.

He has great athletic ability and burst to go with that size. He showed flashes of being a great defender and distributor. I think he's a 4-year player for us and if he can develop a SEMBLANCE of a jumper, he could be pretty damn good.

Poor mans Garrett Temple. No upside except on defense and he will never be on Temples level.

Not true at all, but OK.

Pretty impressive that you're able to make this leap after 1 year, considering Temple was here for 4.

he was an ok defender, but there were no flashes of him being a great defender or distributor. he was basically a momentum killer 99% of the times he came in. plus you'll have a very hard time finding a guard who shoots worse than he does. I hope he improves and can become a decent point guard but last year was very disappointing.

This as well. However, the staff is still recruiting.

Feel what you may. I'm pretty sure you know how to get in touch with me if you wanna really talk about it. It's legit.

Wrong. He ranked in the 93rd percentile defensively. Excellent. Way better than ok.

Disagree. And I think his size and athletic ability gives him a shot to be a damn fine defender in the future. It will also allow him to penetrate and get to the rim or pass, which is 100% of what he did in high school. I agree he looked lost more times than not, but he was asked to play in a manner he's never played before. That said, I agree with:

I think he'll be a very good player for us by the time he's done. People shouldn't just give up on hive (not referring to you). Despite what the sports media wants us to believe, people actually do stick around for 3-4 years sometimes and develop their skills along the way.

It amazes me how dumb LSU fans are when it comes to basketball.

TQ was the only guard we had this past year that could create his own shot by driving and getting to the rim. His problem was that he was absolutely terrible at finishing around the rim.

To say he has no upside is false. If he can just finish at the rim he could be a huge factor on the offensive end with his ability to drive and shoot or kick to an open man.

Temple even redshirted his freshman year.

Let me make this clear. I do not want TQ gone. I think he'll have a heck of a career if he sticks it out. Issue is pretty simple, he wants to play purely PG and the staff wants him off the ball more (don't know why). Not the only factor but please don't think by me posting any of this I want him gone, 100% not the case.

Well I hope whatever sources you have are wrong because I think Q has a great chance at being great here.

I think alot of people haven't recognized his ability to get into the lane. Also there's something about his passes that are just shootable. They just seem to be right where they need to be, the right pace, and on time.

I know you've liked him. I just hate to spread rumors about kids on here that may change peoples perspective on a player undeservedly. I'm sure you have part of the story, but definitely not the whole thing. Like I said, I hope he stays.

I don't care about your 93rd percentile. what other meaningless stats can you provide us? he was far from an excellent defender.

Right, so he was here for 5.

Watching Temple play in high school, I was shocked that he was ever able to be a relevant college player. Dude was unbelievably raw and was like the 5th or 6th best player on that stacked U-High team.
