I just dropped off a LM bass at a taxidermist and he said it would be later this summer before he would even start the project. So how long am I looking at? This is my first time to mount anything other than the ole lady.

If the timeline is too long you could offer to pay a premium to move up in line so to speak....

Seems pretty quick to me. I have had fish and birds take over two years. That being said the guys I use are true artists and I expect to have to wait on them.

This. My buddy sent his to Dave Luke and was told there would be a wait due to the cost and time to get the molds. He was basically waiting on the taxi to get enough clients to order everything he needed at once. It took over a year from start to finish, but Dave did a wonderful job like always.

That's pretty average, and possibly better than average turnaround.
