I recently switched jobs and have roughly $220K sitting in my old company's 401k. What would you do with it? I'm 20 years from retirement and will continue to fund $25K+ yearly into a new 401k/sep (self-employed).

Would you consider rolling the $220K into an indexed deferred annuity product with a lifetime income rider? What are the pros and cons of that?

I would consider it then forget it.

Pros: easy for you, no thinking involved.

Cons: high hidden fees and you become a creditor of a single company.

Why not just buy a Vanguard S&P 500 index fund and reinvest the dividends? The fees are miniscule and you are diversified to a maximum extent.

Which funds qualify? I'm not really well versed in this field.

This article from Forbes magazine might be helpful for you:
LINK

The link below is for the Vanguard S&P 500 index fund information:
LINK

You can click on "All Vanguard Funds" at the top of the page for that link and you can see the myriad of funds available through Vanguard.

I'm not touting Vanguard, it's just that they historically have the lowest fees of any mutual fund family.

Or you could just buy one share of Berkshire A Class stock..... LINK
