Per The Advocate...dad said he is coming to Baton Rouge this week to talk to coach Jones. Have not seen one mock draft with Mickey being taken...what needs to be discussed?
2 year rule can't come soon enough...

I really hope Mickey comes back. I think he stays but he is really thinking about making the jump. Worried.

This is an awful long time to wait and then have your dad come to town to say you're staying...

I smell a Johnny O'Bryant last season type of announcement for Mickey.

If he does go, he will be selected at the bottom of round 2. He will get an unguaranteed contract and rot on the end of a bench.....it will be career suicide if he comes out now.

not completely, but it won't be good, he'd really benefit from dominating his peers one more year and getting that stock up

I don't think he goes in first round. No. He is listed in the 40's or 50's as far as projected NBA position at this point I believe.

SOS, assuming he stays, who is odd man out. Advocate says tigers will be one over the limit.

Then it would be a terrible decision to leave IMO

if the rule really does change to 2 and done then Mickey's draft stock for next year would increase exponentially making it even dumber to leave this year.

That's a tough question, and one I really don't like to make assumptions on. I really dont think it's fair because I don't know everyone's situation. Knowing that Morgan may not be back from his injury obviously he could be a candidate. People have discussed Hammink going walkon, but Im not sure how viable that is.

I don't think it's Odo or Malone. Malone has too much potential and Odo cannot transfer so we would be ending his career.

exponentially no, but it would be good for him being in the youngest class to be available.

I don't know if it's necessarily a bad thing if his Dad is coming to BR to talk to CJJ. Seems to me that if you have already decided to leave then there really is nothing to discuss with the coach other than to tell him thank you for the opportunity to play at LSU. I suspect they want to see where Mickey fits in now that JOB is gone. None of these guys see themselves as pure back-to-the-basket post players, but that's what JOB was asked to do under CJJ for 2 years. Mickey may want to make sure that's not what they're looking for him to be next year (as an aside, I think it would be terrible move to make Mickey strictly a back-to-the-basket post).

The facts are what they are. He's not a projected first round pick, and not a lock to be picked at all. If he comes back to LSU he will start, play extensive minutes, and will arguably be the focal point of LSU's inside game. If nothing else, even if he receives little to no coaching (which sometimes looks to be the case with this staff) just playing another year at the D-1 level should improve his ability to defend the ball

I know it's been asked a hundred times, but what is the deal with Bridgewater? If he's on scholarship next year doesn't that mean that LSU has to free up 2 spots?
