Finally putting a fishfinder on my Hobie PA12 ...what kind of battery do you use? Have you mounted it in a certain place on the Hobies?
Thanks OB!

a 12v deerfeeder battery fits in, and you can either mount it to the sail post inside the front hatch, or it will fit in the round hatch in the rear. (it would take the place of the storage bin back there)

Like others have said, a deer feeder battery works great. Hobie offers a battery for fishfinders, but I'm not sure if the cost. Most feeder batteries are 7 or 7.5ah, but the hobie is 8.5ah. It may give you a little more run time. But I've run a full color fishfinder/GPS for an entire weekend off of one charge, no problem with a Bass Pro Battery.
