Settle a debate between me and the wife. Every time I cook red beans and rice, she lays on the Heinz ketchup. It doesn't matter how well seasoned they are or how fresh the were made, but she says she can't eat them without it. Has anyone ever heard of this before, or is she crazy?????

My mother has always put a little shot of ketchup in her white beans. I've never seen anyone else do that.

It's like you're asking for an organ from one of their children when you say, "Ketchup?"
They are like "Yeah dough. In the bag."
Then I'm like "MF'er I can piss more ketchup at any given point in time than what you put in that bag. Ketchup!"

I have no doubt that she's a wonderful woman, but that habit sucks and needs to go.

I'd be squeezing those little packets for 30 min. I probably could use half a bottle of Heinz when I eat fries. IMO they need a dispenser at every McDs

Sounds like something my father in law would do. He's way smarter and way richer than me so I won't judge your old lady's gross habit.

Add a little white vinegar to your bean. A quarter cup should do it. That's what she's missing with your beans. Ketchup and hot sauce is full of it. That's why it helps the flavor.
