Anyone ever negotiated a severance while voluntarily

Seems like it would be smart on the company's part but I wasnt sure if that was a foreign concept.

Sure.

I've never been fired or laid off and I've always received a severance.

care to explain why it would be beneficial to the company? I just don't see it.

Typically at least 2. I've usually received a week for every year of employment with the company.

Ensure that there is a clean break which they can help to manage. End on good terms so employee wont badmouth company to customers, ect (not that I would do this but some people might)
Prevent an employee from being unproductive while they hunt for another job.

Just a few reasons but I'm sure there are more.
