Thinking about heading that way tomorrow. Are the crabs running?

Yeah … I just stopped by Calcasieu Point and everyone I talked to said it wasn't a good day

No specs but the reds and flounder were biting in the shallows, flats and oyster beds yesterday. We had a good time.

I saw Calcasieu Point was closed for the weekend … where else could a man get some shrimp?

Don't know, they were hitting on artificial for us.

I usually cast for shrimp but I never saw any running where we were yesterday.

Your only other option is spicers, and I know they didn't have shrimp a couple days ago. Might have to fish hard, but you can catch trout right now on BL
