Pickets replacement plan in design phase...

Sorry if this was already posted but I absolutely positively did not search


They have began designing what will ultimately be an artificial reef to replace the pickets. Here is the link to the Article

I honestly did not even know that this was going to happen.

Dont matter. Without crew boats making faily visits to wash the silt off the shell pads they will become.silted over. It will be good for 1- 1 1/2 years layer...... after that all bets are off.

Not the biggest silt area really. West end of coon point is eroding at record speeds.

really? i havent been out there in YEARS. my dad used to have a camp/lease off old oyster bayou till andrew smoked it and fished that area a lot

If you have google maps go and look at coon point from 2003 till now. Probably a 40% reduction. Huge cut through the middle of the island. 600 yards or so are missing off the west end since 2006/ 2007.

It would help, don't think it will be as productive without it and the fact that they ripped up 80 yo structure
