Anyone have this in their home? Have heard great things and also terrible things with this stuff.
Would love my electric bill cut in almost half but I'm not sure if that outweighs the negative possibilities.

I have it, installed on new build. It can be very tricky to add after the fact...

it will be new construction

Then do, it. But it isn't just foam, it is proper 2 stage A/C, no ventilation (better with electric heaters and not gas on water and air heaters) etc...
Neighbor and I built similar sized homes, I put in foam and 21 sear a/cs and he installed rock wool and not sure what A/C on 2600 sf similar 2 story homes. I averaged $130 last year, he was well over $300.

So you dont have any gas in your home? I read that if you have gas appliances then you cant completely seal your attic bc of ventilation reasons. So all I would need is a 2 stage a/c unit?
How many sq ft is your home and and how much big is your unit?

2600 sf, 2 floors, 2 3 ton Carrier units. My only gas is a propane stove. One of my air returns has a 12"x12" air return on the outside of the home for fresh air. You want the 2 stage ac that runs on both temperature and humidity points...

Can you link me an A/C unit I would need? Just an example. My house will be 2400 htd 1 story

Mine is 6 years old now, talk with an ac guy that knows what they are doing. I have not kept up the latest and greatest...

OK. Did you get your walls sprayed and ceiling and attic? or just walls and attic?

Check with your termite treatment guy before making this decision. I'm currently dealing with an issue on a structure that is eaten up with termites and have spray foam in the walls and ceilings. This particular structure is a 3 story wood frame structure in a commercial application. We have had numerous consultants come in the last few months. The owner wants to blame the termite treatment company, but their warranty states it is void with the presence of the spray foam due to not being able to track the termites' tunnels/ paths/ existence in and around the foam.
We are talking about a loss in excess of 1M on this particular project, so it has everyone's attention to say the least.

We need to talk.
I had 50K of termite damage to my commercial building. It had been coverd from day one with Fischer. After review, we saw obvious errors in their original application. They refused to pay.
I lawyered up and they settled for 56K.
I learned a lot about what the pre-treatment is supposed to look like and what the annual inspections are supposed to reveal.
I can also point you or your client to a good, fair lawyer.
In new construction, I would use Termidor. Properly applied and maintained, termites will never be an issue after Termidor application.

Why don't they come with a insulation spray and termite protection in one.

If you spray foam money like a yetti spend the extra get an ERV or energy recovery vessel and you definitely need 2 stage Ac and heat weather it is electric or heat pump! SPRAY FOAM is a great product but your ac guy better know what he is doing!Every manufacturer makes a staged ac product!

I added it (replaced fiberglass batt) to my house, built in 1963, about 3 years ago. All we did was seal attic. My A/C guy recommended it after ceiling was sweating and old metal duct work needed to be either replaced or re wrapped. I've been VERY impressed. It has saved me tons... We have gas heat and continuous gas water heater both in attic, no problems.

Termites usually infiltrate at ground (or below) level.
Plus they can come in through porch overhangs or columns. That is an area that usually isn't sprayed.
I don't know what the effectiveness of the chemical would be once it gets in in the foam, but that doesn't side like a bad idea.

It was my understanding that termites didnt like the spray foam??
Also, I thought if you had sort of gas appliance then you could not seal your attic with the spray foam because of ventilation problems?
