President Barack Obama has laid out the blueprint he thinks his party should follow on Obamacare as the midterms approach: “forcefully defend and be proud” of the law — and then move on, hitting Republicans for Washington dysfunction and inaction on the economy.

The question now is whether Democrats will listen.

“I don’t think we should apologize for it, I don’t think we should be defensive about it. I think there is a strong, good, right story to tell,” Obama said at a brief White House press conference Thursday afternoon.

Do the Red State/vulnerable Senate Dems follow the Obama playbook? Embrace or distance?

The fact that he has to tell this to his own party says a lot about where they are with ObamaCare and how democrats view it.

They're toast for the midterms in November.

too bad it can't be a literal bloodbath with heads on pikes and shite

These assholes have caused real suffering for real people and even when they lose they just go into some cushy lobbying gig or consulting gig or some such shite where they STILL don't feel the effects of the great big dump they took on the rest of us.

For example, I'll bet that Blanche Lambert bitch isn't suffering at all.

Of course Dems need to embrace it. They already own it. Might as well defend it.

It's like George Bush and Iraq war. After it was started you can't go back and say oopsie, mistake, sorry about that. Nope, gotta keep plugging away and defending yourself and your policies.

This is basic politics 101.

And look how well that's worked out for democrats then; control of Congress and the Presidency.

We know what's likely going to happen this November, how 2016 with Rand Paul?:coco2:

Health care was actually Hillary's baby before she helped Obama get elected and is probably an underlying reason for getting him in the White House.

If I was a dem running this fall I would be worried. If it's so great why have so many implementations of the law been delayed? A smart opponent is going to ask the question and answer it himself in television ads. The opponent is going to hammer the individual obamacare failures to the public. He is going to hammer the lies.

The D's shouldn't be too excited about that poll.

quote:

"It's not that independents are moving their way, it's that Democrats who had previously been a little bit ambivalent in their support are coming back to the party," he said. One-fifth of respondents said they did not know which party had a better plan, and another fifth said neither party did.

Disingenuous much, JR?

A full 67 percent of the people polled don't like the Dems' plan (according to your linked article), and the polls are moving in the Dems' favor only as a result of a non-critical media slurping up every fake set of numbers given them by the WH.

Mostly disagree with this statement. The momentum has swung back in the favor of the Dems - all due to inaction by R's IMHO

ACA = "gaining" favor with 12 millionty signups ( )
Benghazi = dead story (no pun intended)
IRS = Issa et al have gotten nothing and will get nothing and like it. Cummings is trolling the sh*t out of the whole committee and Issa is standing idly by.
Economy = increasing economy + unemployment at pre-disaster levels = +1 for El Presidente
Voters = are retarded with short memories

What is your take on why Dems are toast?

Is this the same "law" that he has given multitudes of passes on as to enforcement with his pen? What is the head count on the waivers for his friends as of now? Does it equal the headcount of failed green energy companies that have failed with outstanding loans due? Any Democrat that voted for it should have an anvil placed around their necks and told swim bitch before walking the plank. I hope the Koch boys spend millions on the Mary commercial in the last month before election day state wide, "I would vote for it tomorrow" til she can't turn on the tube in her house out of fear for her job(which it is all it has ever been to her). If she loses she will be working as a lobbyist before any amount of time has passed.
