I see many threads on Yaks and I know they are very popular down south. Can a grown man stand up and fish out of one? Do they flip easy?

Short story: Some yaks are better for standing up, some aren't. Yaks designed for standing up will generally be more expensive, but there are exceptions (such as the Bass Pro yak - others will give the specific name).

All depends on the yak. And the person.

This is the only acceptable answer for most yak questions.

Check out the KC Kayaks. I think they're made for standing. I've been trying to get one of my buddies out here to CA to try them out in the delta.

Looks like a similar concept as the Freedom Hawks without the loss of storage room.

I have a yak that I fish from but I sit. If you stand how are you going to paddle and steer the yak?

Boom Roasted has the most affordable boat on there.
Check out the yak that I have....A perception sport pescador 12.........don't stand on that one it's a unihedral hull in the middle. pescador
Check out the Commander 120......you can stand in that one very easy. It's a dihedral hull sit in kayak. Lower center of gravity.....hulls on the lateral edges of the yak equals more stability. commander
Take a look and contrast the two....then you'll have a better idea.

I'll be in shallow marsh mostly, and I got me a push pole

I pretty much only stand when I have a spot that I want to make a bunch of casts at. Typically I am sitting to fish. I would hate to have to mess with a paddle and rod while standing.

Commander 120 FTW
You can see how the tunnel hull flares out to the side.
