But also, I think if you look back at 2012 and the series of interviews the sitting president of the United States gave, probably the toughest interview he had was with Jon Stewart. Probably the most substantive, challenging interview Barack Obama had in the election year was with the anchor of The Daily Show.

Mainstream. Media. Represent.

I'd also venture to say that Sebelius' most challenging interview was also on The Daily Show. She looking like a buffoon on there.

Pretty sad. I think Obama gives 1 interview/year to Fox and it's always with O'Reilly, who is so soft on Obama, he might as well be massaging his shoulders during the interview.

I can recall Katie Couric asking him his favorite color and favorite ice cream in 2008. Carney may be right.

Stewart did a pretty good job with the subtle needling of Nancy Pelosi when she was on there.

Stewart does a great job with his interviews and will call out Democrats and Republicans.

He made Nancy Pelosi look like an idiot not too long ago

To be fair, that requires only taking a picture of her.

I don't think he treats them equal. He might needle some democrats he dislikes but he goes harder vs the right than the left. However, I do give him credit for at least needling some of the left instead of completely slurping on them.

Yeah, Jon may be liberal, but he is rational, fair, and can see through hypocisy. He's a damn fine interviewer.

the go-to source for info for young democrats is a comedy show hosted by a stand-up comedian on Comedy Central

True, but he held her feet to the fire and kept pressing her on a question that she was trying to avoid

This couldn't be further from the truth.

People who watch The Daily Show or Colbert on a regular basis get most of their information from other sources and are more informed than those who don't.

You serious clark?

Yes, he will hit at Dems and make them look foolish, but NO WHERE near as often as he slams the Repubs.

He has a POV that's pretty well known after over a decade on the air. There's equal treatment and then there's fair treatment. Stewart falls to the latter.

Would have been tougher to make her look smart.
