I had the honor of seeing one of these arrive when I was leaving DC last year. It was pretty dusty in that airport.

As soon as I saw those pics, I instantly missed my grandfather, a 5th Division Marine who fought in the pacific and lost a leg to a mortar shell on Iwo, more than I had in years.

Thanks for posting.

My great uncle went on an Honor Flight from Lafayette a couple of years ago. He died two weeks ago and I believe that the HF was the greatest trip he ever took.

Saw this last year in DC waiting for a flight at our gate. They gave everyone waiting for the flight little American flags to wave when they all walked out. Was a great site to see.

Also remember my friend just saying before they all came out "I really hope this is Hulk Hogan about to come out" because we had no clue what was going on and everyone had American flags.

Both of my grandfathers were vets. One passed away in 1990, the other has Alzheimer's. Would've loved for one or both to be able to experience this.
