Past 3 months you've had 3 people killed on either Roddy or Hwy 44 with this mornings killing of a mom and her son.

First was the beating of a women near the fire station on Joe Severio

Then the murder suicide in the trailer park on Roddy

Now the murder of mom and son on 44 in the subdivision from Apolostic Church and Guillory's

GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -
Authorities said a man broke into the home of his estranged wife, killing her and their 12-year-old son, early Thursday morning.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported Dewona Green, 40, and Ron Green Jr. were found dead in their home on Lakeway Cove Avenue off LA 44. Chief Deputy Tony Bacala with APSO said Ronald Green Sr., 44, allegedly broke into the home around 2:30 a.m. and killed them. Lakeway Cove Avenue is located in the Gateway Cove subdivision between Gonzales and Prairieville.

"Well, it was one of those terrible tragedies," said Bacala. "It's a domestic violence issue."

Bacala said the victims were shot to death. According to reports, Dewona Green was shot in her bed and then Ron Green Jr. was shot. He added the first call about the shooting was from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office after receiving a report.

"Ron Green called someone in East Baton Rouge and said, 'Look, I just killed my wife and my son and I'm about to jump off of a bridge in the Mississippi River,'" Bacala added.

Investigators said Green's car was found atop the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Gramercy, but the search for him continues. Detectives have secured arrest warrants for him for two counts of first-degree murder and violation of a restraining order. Authorities said the couple had recently separated and deputies were actually called out to the home this week for an incident. Following that incident, deputies assisted her in getting the restraining order against her husband.

There was also an incident over the weekend in which Ronald Green Sr. was arrested in East Baton Rouge Parish. Authorities said the arrest stemmed from a violation of the restraining order. He was taken to jail and later bonded out.

Bacala also said measures are being put in place to assist students who knew Ron Green Jr. with coping with the tragedy.

"We've already made contact with the school where the 12-year-old attended and the principal and the school staff are going to be prepared in the morning for any needs that may exist for the students on campus," Bacala explained.

Killing anyone is hard for me to fathom, but to kill your own 12 year old child seems impossible to me. How can that happen?

Read this article on drive in this morning. It's about time that restraining orders come with some device like the ankle monitoring system where both parties have a device and LE is alerted when the bad guy gets too close to the good guy. Something has to be done. This is way too fricking common.

so, the guy did something where she had to get a restraining order...then he violated that restraining order, got arrested, bonded out, and then went to the house, broke in and killed her and his son?

safe to say , this system doesn't work?

It's the plant operators going crazy because they've figured out that the plants can run without them.

what an a-hole this dude is? If you want to kill your self, then do it! But what is the point to kill others, especially a kid, and then commit suicide!

Exactly. Why not offer this monitoring type scenario to someone who's shown a propensity towards violence? Sickening to see this same crime happen almost weekly in the news.

That's a good idea about restraining order ankle brackets or some such. Something that goes off when the 2 parties get within 100 feet of each other or there abouts

I'm pretty sure this guy was Jarvis and Howard Green's either brother or cousin. Very sad situation. Prayers to the entire family!

Might have to be something like 2000 feet to give the good party a fighting chance to be saved from the bad party. Give the good party a key chain type monitor while the bad party is forced to wear the locked ankle monitor.

An alarm on the good party's monitor could go off at same time authorities are alerted. I think this is well overdue and the bad party pays for it or he/she sits in jail.

Anything South of HWY 42 is too close to Gonzales IMO.

How do you determine the good party?

Is the person asking for the restraining order always the good party?

I bet 90% of restraining order situations you are dealing with a bad party and a bad/ worse party...
