#Saints brought in former C Jonathan Goodwin for a visit today, per league source. A reunion possible. Makes a lot of sense.
Lelito/Goodwin/ No higher than 5th round pick center prospect = Center Training Camp Battle

I heard a lot about bringing him back from posters on here, how did he fare last year?

i think he did maybe just okay... definitely on the decline... honestly... it'd be nice for a "Lelito" to beat him out but keep Goodwin for a year as a mentor behind him.

Heard he graded out better than dlp.

I'm sure the fattest poster on here would have done better than DLP.

Overall, DLP scored a +4.0 for the season (16th of 35 C's) and Goodwin scored +5.8 (14th).
(although DLP would look even worse if the penalty scores were removed).
While DLP was decent in pass blocking but lousy in run blocking, Goodwin was slightly below average in pass blocking but pretty damn good in run blocking.

yep...Goodwin was #7 in run-blocking.
How much of that has to do with the offense they played in?
I like the fact that Goodwin has experience in our offense of course, but also that he's played well for a top passing offense and a top rushing offense.

Maybe Soph can grace us with the DVOA.

Oh and I'm saving this spot for Lester to come and say "we're not signing any veterans. That's just what they say."

Goodwin absolutely dominated Star Lotulelei and Kawann Short in the playoff game.

doesn't matter. sold me on run blocking which is infinitely more important at this point for our offense to click.
As bad as we were in pass protection, drew still put up crazy #s. If the pass protection improves like it should (better LT and C than last year and a healthy RG), 5k yards, 69% accuracy, and ~40TD-10INT is easily obtainable with a strong running game.
