The worst part about Springer is he is in Houston with no lineup to protect him. I went to the Stros game last Thursday against KC and they were hitting like .180 as a team. How in the hell Altuve is hitting .280 is beyond me because he gets no protection from the lineup (hitting clean up) and sees majority crap pitches most ABs because nobody else is a threat. I sadly think Springer will get the same treatment if he starts hitting. That game he took lots of big cuts but was almost over swinging, as he missed a few good pitches. I would not be too overly optimistic about him, just because Houston is soo bad. If he ends the season over .250-.275 I'll be ecstatic. He does have some wheels though which could lead to some stolen bases and extra base hits if he does make contact. He was drafted as a full 5 tool player and I can see the potential, just had to fully develop which will take some time.

I hear ya.

We've seen enough of Springer to realize that he just won't ever hit.

Guys that are most likely available that I'd rather: Dayan Viciedo, Lucas Duda and Chris Denorfia

Best of luck

I just heard on mlb whip around that denorfia is one of the most underrated players in the league. Might give him a look. Thanks my man

And what you don't realize is that he bid 60 plus dollars of his 100 FAAB budget on him. He had a plan rag dolling Springer to serve his gain. While there may be some truth to what he said, it's been 10 games. Come back at the end of June and sing his praises then.

I was actually going to trade him since there was so much hype surrounding him.

My point was that there has never been a successful major league baseball player with a contact rate of 65% or below. If he were to be successful, he would have been the first one.

He obviously had ability, I think he needs a better hitting coach. He just needs to choke up on the bat a little bit and try to put the ball in play when he has two strikes on him. He has the speed to leg out infield single. Doesn't have to swing for XBH every time.

Its a 16 team keeper league with 4 OF and a U spot... yes I had a spot for him in my starting lineup.

He's in my farm system so I can send him back down before he reaches 120 ABs and save him for next year.

I have a feeling facing Ray may help him get on track, mentally and physically.

fricking Astros were hitting him 4th, that's just plain dumb.
