The White House will not allow members of the media to observe President Obama's moment of silence on Tuesday for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, drawing a protest from members of the White House press corps. Obama's observation, which will come at 2:49 p.m., will come in the middle of a meeting with senior advisers in the Oval Office. Associated Press White House correspondent Julie Pace pressed spokesman Jay Carney over the exclusion of reporters at his regular briefing. Pace said it was "clearly a newsworthy anniversary, and we think it's appropriate to have independent media coverage of the president on that anniversary."

quote:

"We certainly think that the moment is important, but it is mostly important in Boston," Carney said.

So the media is upset they cannot watch Obama during a moment of silence, but they don' care that the IRS still has not turned over documents that were requested a year ago. We are so screwed as a country.

It is weird.

The "press" is really worried about covering Obama's alleged moment of silence? They must worship the dude.

Must be a slow news day to report this nonsense.

If they're that concerned, have him take a selfie!

Translation, there will not be a moment of silence at all from Obama or his staff at all.

This is the same AP reporter concerning the IRS scandal on Fox News Sunday this past weekend.

JULIE PACE: Well, I think part of it has to do with the fact that the amount of information that we've been getting on it has run out. There has been so much focus on Lois Lerner and she's not talking so you're in this period of time, I say this about a lot of congressional investigations, that if you are going to keep the story going and you want to keep the investigation going, eventually there has to be some material there to work with. And we're in this period of time where we don't have a lot to work with.

I guess that is the same reason the "red line" comment about Syria is no longer in the news. Not because things are good in Syria, but the white house just isn't talking about it.

Many of you are missing the point. The issue isn't the moment of silence for Bston. It is the Obama adminitration's policy of cutting out the press.
