Looking for some advice OB. A buddy from my deer lease has invited my family to join his family at his lake house for Easter weekend. I've asked him what could I bring, he said just be ready for a good time. I always like to bring a gift, meal, etc. when someone invites me to their camp or lease.

I took a friend to a lease a few years back and his wife packed a laundry hamper full of soap, shampoo, deodarant, etc. The lease owner seemed to like that alot and I felt it was a good gesture. Typically I offer to cook a unique meal. The only problem is, cooking is my buddies hobby. He loves to cook. Don't want to try and take that away from him..

What cool items have you guys seen people show up with over the years?

In the Mecca, it is standard to show up with a bottle of Charter. If I showed up with soap, my bros might think I caught the ghey or assume I think they stink.

Backstrap for the win too.

We usually bring some dips, fine cheeses and assorted crackers for appetizers. Usually hit Maxwells Market in Baton Rouge. Also, booze is always good.

No, for the lake house. For the camp, always bring extra booze and food.

You guys are OB ballers.

Bring him a good filet knife. I'd appreciate that.

Coolest gift was a custom pit with the camp name on it. That guy now has an open invite for life.

Normal gifts are bottles of good whiskey or wine.

I always bring a sack of oysters during hunting season when the weather's cold. It's different and my country friends don't have easy access to them like I do.

I bring people all the time and no one ever brought me a gift. I just gave my dad a nice framed speck print.

My buddy and his gf brought my parents a very nice custom leather guest book to our house in Angel Fire when they came. Something we didn't have and will use.

At our place its usually along the lines of a bottle of liquor or a appetizer/snack/finger foods.

Last year my brother's In-Laws brought a huge float to anchor off of the dock. Was given a wakeboard (cracked) to use as wall/garage art.

A bottle of good bourbon is my favorite gift when I bring anyone to the camp. We never run out of food, but no matter how much liquor we bring it seems to disappear rather quickly
