Wonder if ncaa considered going all wood bats like minors and big league?

Wouldn't that be reasonable/ help the game and wake up the crowd? I have to think that if baseball powerhouses like lsu and some west coast teams start to lose much attendance they will get the attention of ncaa and try for a change. Thoughts?

The cost is too high for program who already loses a lot money running a baseball program.
Bu really instead of these new bats I wish they just went wood with the MLB ball and call it a day.
Although NOTHING was more fun than the old bats...

1. LSU's attendance isn't going anywhere
2. west coast attendance numbers are abysmal and always have been

Wooden bats are expensive and they break, meaning they would have to buy multiple bats for 1 player. And in NCAA its not just a few teams that have to abide by it, its all of them Something along the lines of 350 school, with like 220 of them playing baseball.
Most of those schools cant afford it.

Like posters have said above, I think it is a cost factor situation.
If they could somehow get a bat company to sponsor all say D-I team bats it would be one thing but you'd have to think that isn't very likely.

Another point to consider is that MLB and then the minor leagues will all get the best quality wood first and the college would get whatever is left.

A couple of u say it will never happen- why? The idea is for players to move on to the pros. Why not swing pro bats at pro balls? Let's face it - ncaa has to be hearing some bitching by now don't u think?

if the MLB wants colleges to use wooden bats enough, they can provide the funds for them

Wait! Wooden bats don't cost as much at the ones colleges swing now do they? Hell, high school kids swing 350 dollar bats. I know wood breaks but how much is a pro wood bat?

a good wooden bat is not cheap, probably in the realm of $150-200 a piece. a regular player will go through 15-20 bats throughout the season. multiply that for an entire team. the costs would be outrageous

Wooden bats break regularly. Composite bats don't.
What costs more: buying 10 bats at $400/each or 200 bats at $90/each?

And that $350 composite bat wouldnt break. A wooden bat would cost $250 or so. And it would break multiple times during the season. So each kid would have to have multiple bats. Youre looking at the costs of it being over $1200 per player... Its an unnecessary expense.
And these new "dead" bats make it easier to judge how a player would hit with a wooden bat.

Lsufball19. I don't no about the prices so I will take ur word but damn, 15-20 each? Really? I'm a backyard level player but have played with one wood bat for like 10 years!
