Places to stay in South beach

Will be here for a mid week day in late May before I make my way to Key West. Any suggestions on hotels in South Beach? Preferably one that wont charge me a ridiculous resort fee since I wont be at the hotel much?

When we went we stayed at The Fountainbleau

Famous hotel in the legal world.
Anywho, try AirBnB too. I'm hoping to get one of those Tony Montana mansions for like $700 a night and pack 10 people it in. Will come out to like $100-$150 a person for 2 nights. Better than getting 5 hotel rooms.
If you know, you happen to be traveling with 10 people

Check out the Loews. Awesome hotel

The Surfcomber looks legit.

The Dorchester is where we stayed for the super bowl a few years ago. Was reasonably priced, decent enough rooms. Beach is right across the street

Delano if you want some good scenery and a good pool

I agree with this guy. He obviously knows how to identify a nice hotel that attracts hot Miami sluts

stayed at the surfcomber last year
it's an awesome hotel and it's a kimpton so you know you're getting the best of the best
it doesnt have a 'club' scene like some of the other south beach hotels, it's a bit quieter

Heard good things about the Clevelander. I believe it's on Ocean, right next to the beach.
I was lucky since my friend had a condo on Ocean, and we stayed with him when we visited. Otherwise, it'll run 350-400 a night per room in most hotels.

Stayed at the Blue Moon before our Disney Cruise. Damn nice stay.

Ultra high end hotels have already been named. FB, Delano, Loews, and I will add sagamore. Also the shoreclub.
Another good scene with a great rooftop pool is the gansevort.
All are ridiculously overpriced as well.
I'm not really any help. I've been to all of those places many times but for the hot women. Not like I would ever pay for a room at any considering I live here.
I have spent the night at The sagamore, Delano, Casablanca and best western in south beach with women I've hooked up with for a night. I would actually recommend the best western for a moderately priced sobe hotel on the beach though.

Agree with this as well. Had a wonderful stay and right on the beach. The pool is great and you can feel the "History of the Rat Pack" oozing from the walls.

Also, not sure I would recommend FB or Eden Roc for a mid week night. Liv won't be open, the main bar won't be happening, and they arent even in south beach.
If OP wants somewhere in south beach that is cool, that isn't FB or Eden Roc mid week.

Stayed at the Penguin Hotel on Ocean Blvd for a couple nights at the beginning of 2013. Small hotel and the rooms were fine. We were hardly in the room but the location was great.

Try Travelzoo.com. They usually have some deals for South Beach.
