Curio and Relics (C&R’s) are firearms of interest to collectors or firearms over 50 years old (such as Mausers, Mosin Nagants, etc.) An individual may apply for a C&R collector’s license from the BATF. This license allows an individual to purchase and receive C&R eligible firearms shipped directly to their home though mail order, or pick them up, without completing the background checks through an FFL holder. The license is good for three years and has a fee of $30.00. You will see in our catalog and advertising small tags next to certain guns that state “C&R Eligible”. These indicate firearms that can be sent directly to C&R collectors, but when ordered by non-licensed individuals, still must be sent to an FFL holder.

Hot damn. I sent mine in around a week after yours. They've done charged my CC, so I should be getting mine soon too.

I called the ATF office and they gave me the # for requisitions in Maryland. They sent me applications within the week. They mailed an extra copy. Filled it out, sent Mike Hale the back portion, and included CC info on the form sent to the ATF. Took less than 3 weeks. I mailed it to the Atlanta ATF office, and did it with signature receipt to make sure it got there and when it did.

I've considered it for a decade or so now, but never have gotten around to getting one. I'm more of a pistol guy than rifles, and I've gathered a lot of the ones I want already.
Has anyone ever been "audited" or whatever- it's in the license that you have to keep records and make them (and the guns) available on demand by the BATF. I don't do the best job of balancing the checkbook (no bounces, I just don't keep a ledger), and I'm concerned I might misplace or not update my books.
