Over the weekend, I was in Oakdale Louisiana and watched their high school baseball team play. They have a pitcher, LH, throwing in the high 80's low 90's consistently with great control and movement. After the game, I spoke with his mom that said scouts have been coming to the games after he dominated travel ball nation wide. He committed to LSUe, but would love a chance to don the P&G. check him out Baseball Profile

Looks like he could be similar to Poche. I'd give him a long look.

If he's throwing upper 80s consistently he's in good shape. There is work to be done with his mechanics, especially in the finish. He drives well with his legs and gets his hip through quickly enough and has a little natural wrist action that helps his velocity. When he learns to reach out and finish he will become even more consistent and add 2-3 mph. He's a good one to keep an eye on. I like the idea of him going to LSUe and having a chance to pitch a ton.

He looks like one of those guys if you see them on the street, you'd never guess they throw 90mph

Yeah he's on the watch list for draft picks this year coming from Louisiana (list includes people from college too). I spoke with his mom who said he had scouts come watch him and bring him out to eat, but after arguing with an umpire and being ejected, they shied away (rightfully so). Buuuttt, in his last 30 innings pitching, only 3 runs have been scored (one on an error). He isn't just a pitcher though, as he's their clean-up hitter with high BA and double digit home runs this year.

LSU E is not a bad place to get noticed and improve your stock.
Throw him in with all the other LHP out there, LSU will choose the ones they think have the most upside, LSU can't sign everyone with the smaller roster size. He will need to wait out the draft process before LSU can extend anymore offers particularly to pitchers - I think they are pretty much done with recruiting pitching this year
