LAFAYETTE, La. – Jace Conrad had three his and drove in the winning run as the top-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team completed the sweep of UALR on Sunday with a 6-3 victory in the series finale at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
Conrad and the Cajuns (34-4, 14-1 Sun Belt) posted double-digit hits for the 27th time in 38 games outhitting the Trojans (13-20, 3-12 Sun Belt) 12-7 in the contest. Conrad was 3-for-3 at the plate and had two doubles, two RBI and scored two runs. The junior also extended his on base streak to 28 games, while senior Caleb Adams saw his 31-game on base streak come to an end.
Dylan Butler continued his strong performance at the plate in the series going 2-for-4 with a double and drove in a run. Butler was 6-for-8 on the weekend and had two doubles and three RBI.
"We played good, consistent baseball and that's so important," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "When you do that, you have a chance to win every night out. It was just a total team effort this weekend. We got timely hitting, and did a lot of little things right. We played good defense, got good pitching and the bullpen pitched good all weekend for us never giving up a three-run inning."
Cody Boutte became the third Cajuns starter this weekend to remain undefeated on the year moving to 5-0 with the win. Boutte gave up only one run on four hits in six innings with seven strikeouts.

USL is good this year.

Man, I thought Butler was done for the year when he got carted off Friday. Then he pinch hit on Saturday and started today. That was wild.

I know he was beloved, but firing coach shake was the right move

I'm really happy with ULL's success in baseball this year. I hope they can keep it together and make it to Omaha.

They're a great team. I'm impressed. Mostly LA kids from what I understand.
Makes you scratch your head about what LSU's program should be focusing on in recruiting.

Let ULL play a season in the SEC and let's see how great they are. :inb43-1:
I'm not taking anything away from what they're doing this year, but let's not act like LSU is just missing out on a bunch of talent to ULL. We face consistently better competition, and I think anyone that is not biased would agree. They would also agree that our hitting went through a pretty terrible funk that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy as well, so maybe we could snag their hitting coach
Good luck to the Cajuns the rest of the year, unless they play us again.

I don't post here often, but this made me laugh. You talk about not being biased. We beat LSU earlier this year. Don't come with the rain shortened game crap. The score would have been worse. Are we that much better than LSU? I really don't know, but that game was lining up to get much worse on the scoreboard. We then took on your SEC leader and shut them out twice. If you are looking without bias, you will take off your SEC blinders and realize that the SEC, while a good conference, is not so much better that it is an excuse to downplay anyone else. The Cajuns have won 90% of their games this year. That is hard to do no matter who you play.

So every ULL fan can predict the future? You beat LSU in a rain shortened game. Every Cajun fan loves to leave out that last part. That said, y'all are kicking some arse.

And you should continue to do so.

I didn't say I wasn't biased. Regardless, we consistently play better competition than yall. That's a fact.

I'm glad you know that for fact.

Again, congrats on knowing the future.

Did you even bother reading my post? I gave y'all credit, but the SEC is unquestionably better than your league. You can't really argue that.

And I acknowledged that. My whole point was that we aren't missing out on recruits to yall, but way to completely miss the point of my post and take it as an insult to your program. Some of you Cajuns sure are sensitive.

There's an LSU fan RAing me on the rant because I said I'm going to root for Alabama against LSU. That's sensitive.

Well, the Rant can be a pretty ridiculous place.

It really is great how we recruit and stack our team with All SEC talent and then just run rough shot through the sun Belt. Dumbass.
