I had to spend all afternoon doing paperwork and couldn't find anything for a decent background watch so I decided to rewatch TD.

I can honestly say I'm enjoying the rewatch more than I did watching it the first time. Knowing everything actually adds rather than subtracts on the second viewing.

The only other show in the usual Pantheon of great shows I've ever watched a second time in completion was The Wire and it wasn't the same experience.

I really want to see more of and get more backstory on the antagonist on this show. Amazing series, but too much was crammed into ep 8 for me to be fully satisfied.

My wish for season 2:

SPOILERS

Different victim, different killer, different detectives, but I want it to continue to tie into the Yellow King and Carcosa. I want that story flushed out more.

END SPOILERS

I actually enjoyed the second viewing of The WIre. I'm interested to watch True Dectective front to back the 2nd time.

Don't misunderstand me. The Wire is my GOAT, just didn't have the same experience as with TD where the rewatch exceeded the first.
