Anyone have one of these or experience with one? I'm thinking about purchasing one from lowes. It appears to be 3/16 steel but reading mixed reviews online. Basically looking for an affordable offset that is durable.

Thanks !

A good basic offset smoker. I recommend adding a convection plate. Check out amazingribs.com for instructions.

ETA: and buy a cover for it

Look closely at the seams, I have seen several that were bent and wouldn't seal properly. I had a New Braunsfel's that was similar in price and lasted about 8 or 9 years before my abuse finally destroyed it.

Go get a Kamado. You won't regret it. I smoke all kinds of stuff in my Kamado Joe and Akorn.
