MotoGP race in Austin, live right now
Posted by ClydeFrog on 4/12/14 at 9:47 pm00
MotoGP is back this weekend at Circuit of the Americas in Austin. The main race will be at 2:00 pm Central time and I expect it will be shown live on Speed. Colin Edwards and Nicky Hayden are Americans to watch in the GP class and Josh Herrin is the American in Moto2 (qualified 27th of 34; 2.5 seconds off pole).
Can Marquez be stopped?
Will there be carnage at turn 1?
Are the Yamahas doomed?
Can the Doctor ever regain his old form?
Does anyone on TD care?

Was wondering when you were going to show up.
Rain would make this thing interesting. Dillon just reported a few drops.
Not a bad bike swap from Marquez, except for stalling it.

Rain would likely be the only thing to make this interesting, and boy would it. MM is likely going to run off with it otherwise. With rain, I could see Dani and Valentino battling it out up front as well.
Jorge doesn't seem to like this track very much, especially since it's not super Yamaha friendly, but you never can tell when he's going to have a great start and blast to the front anyway.
-I wonder how much Aleix Espargaro would benefit from rain.

I wouldn't mind another Spanish sweep of the podium. More than anything I want Hayden to beat Redding, even if only by a single place.
Update: Moto2 was scheduled to start at 12:20 but the start ia delayed for rain.
Race is still listed as a dry, 19 lap race for Moto2. Will start at 12:28.

That was a great race.
Josh Herrin isn't going to last very long in Moto2 if he keep this up.

True. Zarco crashed out too so I guess that helps but Herrin is going to need to start finishing races real quick.

You know I kinda want to go to Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham to either catch the AMA races or the Indy Car race. Either way it's a pretty awesome place and they have a nice museum as well.
