They're just going all Koch, all the time, I see.
Brilliant.
Brilliant.

There is not a person associated with her campaign that does not have a large, growing brown spot in their skivvies.

Well, did they?
A lof of conservatives around the country said NOLA had it's chance and didn't build better levees. They wondered aloud why the rest of the country should pay for those decisions. It's a typical far right wing viewpoint and it caused a lot of cognitive dissonance among Louisiana conservatives for a moment but they conveniently shook it off and now pretend that it never happened.

Want to guess who designed and built the levee system and outflow canals in N.O..
Hint, it's the same folks who designed and built the Mississippi Gulf Outlet, which is now shutdown because it was a horrible idea.
Enough with that. I really hope Mary gets her arse whipped.
Have my republican friends decided to get behind Cassidy with full force or is there still a faction that things he is not a big enough bible thumper to fit their needs?

Bigger levees aren't the answer that's why. New Orleans is unsustainable. It isn't. That isn't a question.
Bigger levees won't stop the erosion going on around the city. It won't keep the Mississippi River flowing next to the city, and given a long enough time period, it won't stop the hurricane it was designed to.

The river didn't come close to flooding N.O.
For the city proper area, it was outflow drainage canals that were open to lake ponchatrain that did the flooding.

Oh yeah, such piercing analysis and so relevant to the 2014 Senatorial Race in Louisiana.
You have to reside in the silliest liberal fever swamp to think the term "Koch Bros" will resonate with Louisiana voters. Which is why I support this National strategy completely.

Close- I'm a civil engineer. My firm did a lot of the consulting work for the industrial canal floodwalls after Katrina.
Do you think New Orleans is sustainable?

Very aware of that. Old river control is holding back the Miss. River artificially. It won't hold it back forever.

I think there are several areas that the river wants to break through, but I don't see it happening in my life time.

If not for the ineptness and corruption of the NO USACOE (that's a govt. agency), maybe things would have been different. Maybe the USACOE hates black people too.

Ouch. That's a pain that will linger.

It was even a larger number of liberals who said this.
Carry on.

I hope so too. My point though is that eventually New Orleans is in a losing position.
1)You can't stop the erosion. Eventually New Orleans will be surrounded on all sides by water, only protected by man made levees.
2)Eventually the Miss. River will change course and devastate the city's water supply, shipping, and industrial corridor along the river. It port will be done when the river drops to sea level.
3)The city can't stop another hurricane from coming. Given a long enough time frame it doesn't matter what levee you put up, a bigger one will come along.
These are all things that no one has a good solution to. As a person who was born, raised, & educated there I hope none of those things happen in my lifetime, but it will be very hard, if not impossible to stop them.
