LSU QB Zach Mettenberger dined with four Vikings officials following his Wednesday Pro Day. A league source told beat writer Ben Goessling that OC Norv Turner was "calling out routes" he wanted Mettenberger to throw by the end of his workout. Per Goessling, the Vikings are "believed to be high on Mettenberger," who is a classic, big-armed pocket passer in the Troy Aikman-Philip Rivers mold. Turner was Aikman's coordinator in Dallas, and Rivers' head coach in San Diego.

Per roto

This sounds like a great fit for Mett if he falls to them in the second, but i think his draft stock is sky rocketing right now

Mett is a lot like Rivers. Turner would be a great OC for him but he changes teams so much.

Mett has a much more conventional throwing motion.

Good to see all this love for Zach. I bet a team trades up into the bottom of the first round and grabs him before those teams at the top of the second round can draft him

His fast recovery has a lot to do with the love as well IMO. The fact that he may be ready to play physically in year one will attract more teams his way.

I like the Vikings would be a good place for ZM...anywhere but Oakland.

Well yeah, I'm not talking about the way it comes out of his hand.

I just don't see why anyone would concider drafting Manziel higher than the 4th round to begin with. Maybe it's because LSU dominated him twice, but I've never been impressed with him at all. I just don't see that circus act working well in the NFL at all. You can't always just run around and throw jump balls to Evans in triple coverage all day. He will be in Arena football in 5 years.

The vikings would be a great fit for him. I think he will succeed wherever he goes FWIW.

I think JFF will have more success than you do, but I don't think he will dominate the NFL like some are predicting.

I'm not a Manziel apologist, but you can only say this if you have observed a very small sample of his complete body of work.

I am not saying he's No. 1 overall material. I'm just saying that he has displayed impressive skills in a considerable number of instances.

Has more to do with the system that Brees is in.

The best option for Manziel is Jacksonville imo.
