#Wyoming speedy WR Robert Herron visited the #Saints yesterday and is there today for a pre-draft visit, source says.

From NFL.com draft profile

quote:

OVERVIEW
Two-time honorable mention All-MWC (2012-13) selection. 2013: Started all 12 games. Led team with nine receiving touchdowns and was second on the team with 72 receptions and 937 yards. 2012: Played in and started eight games. Missed four games due to a shin injury. 2011: Played in 12 of 13 games with eight starts. 2010: Played in 10 of 12 games with one start.

ANALYSIS
-STRENGTHS Good athlete. Exceptional straight-line timed speed -- can accelerate and get on top of DBs vertically. Quick-footed. Above-average hands. Has return capability (despite not being used as a returner because of offensive value).
-WEAKNESSES Does not play fast. Marginal toughness -- does not like crossing the middle or extending across his frame. Drifts in his routes. Short-arms the ball. Does not adjust to or track the deep ball well. Lacks physical strength and is jarred on contact after the catch. Carries the ball loosely. Disinterested blocker, especially on the backside. Regularly matched up vs. inferior competition. Has been dinged a lot and long-term durability is a concern.
-BOTTOM LINE Very diminutive, outside receiver with the timed speed to threaten the field vertically and potentially contribute in the return game. Needs to prove he can bow up against better competition and is more than a track athlete.

3rd Round-ish.

He is a short guy. 5'9" 195lbs

Track star though. Great straight line speed.

I like him a lot. He shredded Texas a couple of years ago (including KV). Similar player to Cooks and Beckham, but could be had in the 3rd or 4th I would think. I feel pretty sure the team is going to double dip at WR this year.

for some reason when I read these they always remind of those allergy/prescription med commercials.

First, they tell you that you will stop having allergy attacks, then, they give a laundry list of side effects that sound ten time worse then the condition you're trying to get rid of

Does not compute...

Doesn't sound similar based on the weaknesses.

I made my own comparison. I actually watched him play and didn't go solely off of one site's scouting report. I think he's a very good WR. He was almost unstoppable at Senior Bowl practices because his quickness off he line was ridiculous. I think he's a really good slot receiver.

I also like his Wyoming QB, Brett Smith. He could be an interesting UDFA pickup as a project. Just throwing that out there.

Sounds like a Lance Moore replacement.

I haven't watched him at all and I'm not critisizing or anything. That review didn't make sense though because you can't be a return guy and not be tough.

Is he comparable to a Lance Moore? Although Lance is pretty tough.

I think he's a lot faster and quicker than Lance. Stronger, too. But idk if he's tougher. Probably won't be right away, but that's not uncommon for rookies.

Obviously this means we drafting ODB 1st and Landry 2nd.

But the real question here is how is his dancing?

Like me taking pills that were supposed to help migraines. They helped with the migraines, but I probably took 50 shits in 3 days. I couldn't leave my girlfriends house one of the days because I basically lived in her bathroom that day with the Bellagio coming out of my arse. It also made all depressed and shite like that.

Anyway, Herron is decent, but nothing to go crazy over. He has great speed, but the Saints need receivers that can get separation in other ways as well. His injury issues should also be a concern. The weaknesses listed far outweigh the strengths.
