Took the Cubs from a team with a ridculously high payroll with no farm system and shitty record to a team with a moderate payroll (23rd out of 30) with an excellent farm and a shitty record.

They are on the right track.

A farm system chock full of legitimate prospects. 4 of which are, I think, in MLB.com's or BP's top 30. FOUR.

The product on the field will lag behind the depth in the farm system, but that's a hell of a lot better than an enormous payroll full of aging terrible players and no farm system.

This regime has been a huge success.

rome wasn't built in a day. If you don't understnd that then i think we're at an impass.

But if you're serious then I suggest you check any baseball prospect publications. Compare payrolls of pervious cubs teams that were very bloated to what it is now, and consider average age of teams before and after.

Oh yea and he showed everyone how to game the international signing program with the new CBA.

And he's kind of making it a policy to fleece the rangers every chance he gets. So there is that too.

And he gave us Clark too. I'm sure that wasn't him, but i'd like to get out ahead of it.

This question will answer itself when you see Javier Baez play.

Look at what allowed the majority of the Yankee's success:
It was a strong farm system that won those championships, not buying players.

Why is this relevant?
When everyone is buying players, getting high-quality, inexpensive talent through the farm system is the area of opportunity.

His ability to provide proper valuation is his contribution to the cubs.

And two of those in the top ten.

I am getting antsy. I love this rebuild, but I am clamoring for the day when Bryant and Baez start.

6 of the Cubs top 10 prospects have been drafted or acquired by Epstein. He's only been there 2.5 years

kris bryant-draft
albert almora-draft
CJ Edwards- trade
jorge soler- free agent
pierce johnson- draft
aroyds vizcaino- trade

and if you want to look at the next 10

christian villanueva- trade
eloy jimenez- signed
neil ramirez- trade
mike olt- trade
paul blackburn-draft
kyle hendricks- trade
corey black- trade
jacob hanneman- drafted
tyler skulina- draft
gleyber torres- signed

so 16 out of the top 20 prospects for what is ranked one of the top 2-3 in baseball, in only 2.5 years, is pretty good id say.
