Just came across a guy from the state of Washington. Said he had heard of the pig problem down here and was wanting to help out. Asked if I knew of anyone that needed pigs killed on their property. I didnt know if to laugh or feel sorry for him. I offered a paid hunt but he declined. Said he had been to Clinton, La with no luck and was now headed to Texas

People in LA are not so open with their property rights as people up North.

That's why I'm always skeptical when I hear someone talk about heading up to the Dakotas and just asking permission to hunt birds on random pieces of property. I'm like, no way that would fly around here...

Very hard to believe, but it is true. I have been going to North Dakota the last few years. My good friend has been able to get to know the farmers and they allow us to hunt their fields.

But we have run off more than a few people from Michigan and Wisconsin. Funny to roll up on them and ask them who they have permission from and they start stammering and stuttering. Then you ask them about the posted sign they drove right past (tire tracks leading right past the sign to their truck).

Good CSB.
I've always asked to hog hunt private property when the situation presented itself. I love hog hunting and our own private land and leases don't hold an over abundance of hogs.

I usually offer the landowner a small sum of money per hog, meat, or to do work for them around their property.

I have been privileged enough to offer free hog hunts to multiple people through the OB. I would tell him to head this way if it wasn't for a the fact I am expecting a hunter this weekend from the board.

We have a few groups we invite to shoot/trap pigs on our property after deer season is over

ETA: I was amazed when I found out people pay to shoot those nasty frickers

How often you run across pigs that when you skin them out they have puss pockets? thought I remember reading something about that before.

Friend killed one this morning that had a few spots he described as being like huge zits under the skin and he quit skinning it and chunked it

I love shooting those nasty suckers. Especially with my bow. I find they taste better than store bought pork depending on size.

I read that the wrong way at first...I figured you wanted him to set you up with one of his pigs...

If I was down at our place I would let someone come hunt, if no one is there it would be hard to trust a stranger. Hogs do cause a ton of damage, I just ran across these pictures of a hog destroying a feeder

I am lucky because our place doesn't have any hogs. But I have killed several at my brothers place.
