So now instead of paying $25 for the Chineese knock-offs, you'll pay $40 now. No biggie.

I doubt the knockoffs will move that much. Nike is going to push everyone to the counterfeiters, and prey on the ignorant; great business move.

Why do people buy the real ones? Better yet, why do people buy so many jerseys?

I have an old walmart LSU jersey I bought in college and that is the only one I have. I'm fine with team t-shirts and polos.

I would buy the $300 jersey if I wanted the $300 jersey- $40 isn't going to break my desire for one. Fortunately, I'm not a man who wears jerseys.

Another reason I'm glad I don't wear them. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

probably looks nothing like an LSU jersey since walmart cant sell the official ones. just like the saints ones have a helmet on the sleeve instead of a fleur de lis

It was sarcasm

but technically,

Anyone with half, scratch that; a quarter of a brain and google will not buy authentic jersey's. It's a monopolized ripoff. Therefore nike is going to take the customers that are going to go authentic no matter what and make up some of their opportunity losses.

I just feel sorry for the families scraping by that spend a quarter or more of a paycheck on a jersey for their kid to make them happy because they don't know any better, when they could avoid the ripoff with no extreme differences in the product; but that's today's america.

great link! I've been needing to replace my old Brees knockoff with the painted on numbers with one with stitched numbers. Now I just need to decide if I want to go Black Reebok style, Digital Camo, or throwback version
