I remember him entertaining the hell out of me as a kid and was one of the main reasons I started watching wrestling.

If I remember correctly weren't most of his matches pretty short just because he wasn't really a good technical wrestler?

RIP UW.

That's how he got here. I think they brought him into the US to do that and he just said frick it and stayed.

My favorite sheik stories are:Pat Patterson makes him dip and drink for the first time. The infamous positive drug test for cocaine and sheik thought he passed. And him smoking weed with the freebirds and buying beer on Sundays in georgia when it was outlawed.

Well there was a one hour long radio thing yesterday where the Iron Sheik was talking about The Ultimate Warrior. So I think it's relevant. I don't think it's that difficult to understand really.

IMO, Sheik is old school, a lot of those guys never break character. He's always talking things up.

I mean people will think that UW was an Olympic coach or some shite like that. And you're the only one who listened to the radio thing, so everyone else won't know what's going on. Idiot.

Which is why I went into detail about what he said about The Ultimate Warrior. Dolt.

For Cocomo clarification: Ultimate Warrior was never an Olympic coach. He may or may not have been a crossdresser but never an Olympic coach of any kind.

IIRC from the article, Hogan was basically a dick and didn't appreciate that Shiek pretty much made Hogan a star with the whole Iran/America storylines early in HH's career (HH won his first WWF Championship from Shiek).

Warrior was charismatic. He was cool with sting as the blade runners. His rematch with hogan paled in comparison to the epic match at wm6. That an his wm7 match with savage were classics

Wow - just went back and checked out his final promo again. The first part of it was like giving his very own eulogy.
