You can't purchase an urn on-line and have it shipped to LA.

So, I can get an urn shipped to Houston, but my sister in NOLA or buddy in BR cannot?

Where would you rather live, OT?

Seems like the LA mortician lobby is very strong in this state. Hell, they didn't want monks building simple wooden caskets because it cut into their hefty profits.

Probably has something to do with this.

Only those licensed by the state could sell coffins. I'm guessing urns are somehow looped into the regulation.

Good for these monks.

Well it's not like there are urns you can actually buy in the store.

I know they have all those displays with associates nearby (cabinets, coffins, etc). But still...they would have to order it as well....and have it shipped to LA.

Holy shite the coffins there are expensive too. How much does a coffin cost?

I had no idea the cheapest coffin the monks sold was $1500.
It's a wooden box. Hell I'm going to be buried in a prefab pantry from Ikea, screw that crap. $3000+ for a box.

Coffin's that you'd buy from a funeral home can be very expensive. Over 5K. (I think 5K is the normal cost, I'm sure they have some that are over 10K).

Bet they are still cheaper than one from a funeral home.

It's a depressing business....but I would imagine people that own funeral homes do very well.
