It's my brother's boat and I live in Laffy. So far I've heard Intracoastal City and maybe the Delcambre canal.

Go east to Dularge or west to Big Lake.

Lake Boudreaux diwn Chauvin has some nice interior brackish marsh to fish redfish. You could launch on the Dulac side behind the dump. We do it quite often fridays after work in the summer. Gold Spoons and baby minus over grass is a killer

I've headed back behind the land fill about 5 times with not much luck. It looks like amazing habitat, but only seen a lot of fish activity twice. I love doing it because it's so easy. Close to my parents house, free launch, about $4 in fuel for the boat. I just haven't had luck yet.

ETA: And to the OP. You can go anywhere in that boat. Pull up google maps, find the closest marsh to you, find a launch that's close to it, then go fishing.

Perfect boat for redfishing. I had a 16' CC flat w/ 40hp that I used strictly for redfishing. I live 30 seconds from a launch into the West Pearl River, so I would toss it in there and make a 25 minute run into the Rigolets, Lake Borgne, and that whole area. I mostly fished by myself, and it was easy to do everything myself with that small of a boat. Also fished Bay St. Louis for reds. All the places I hit, I would always be the only boat in there. I could take it down little "ditches" about 10 ft. wide to hit ponds with 2 ft. of water and catch them tailing. That is the one thing I miss most since I became disabled. Those small boats are redfishing machines.

Do you get to Dularge from Houma? Sorry guys, we grew up freshwater fishing and are novices.

Yes. You can fish a lot of marsh right around Houma. Dularge, Dulac, Cocodrie, Montegut, Point Aux Chenes. Ton's of places to take an 18' aluminum hull. Lot's of places to catch specs as well.
