Haven't been to the new box and gonna make a family trip in May. Also, (food and drink board) what are the must eats and places to grab a brew? Haven't been to Red Stick since 2006.

It's usually pretty easy to get tickets outside the Box. The ticket office will likely just have Standing Room Only tickets for a weekend game. You might try the ticket exchange and line them up ahead of time. If you're coming in May, the way the Tigers play between now and then will definitely influence the size of the crowd. I'm taking a positive outlook and predicting big crowds!
A lot of new places have opened up around campus, but you can't go wrong with The Chimes. Walk-On's is across Nicholson from the Box. Leroy's is a new place just south of Walk-On's on Nicholson has very good food. Mike Anderson's and Sammy's are good options as well.
The New Box is a great venue for college baseball, and when the Tigers are playing good the atmosphere is something special.

Appreciate the info. I always dig the chimes. Never had a bad time or meal. Mike Anderson's, George's and Ralph and Kackoos were some other standbys when I frequently got down to see family and football games. But that's been a while ago. Looking forward to walk on's. Heard so much about it. A dive bar or good sports bar is a plus. My cousin lives right at city park lake, so, easy access to most places.

If you don't kind spending a small amount extra go to the ticket market place you should get a ticket and they can be very good. Find it at lsutix.net

I'll check out the tix site. Not sure which weekend we'll get down.

Marketplace is a good source. You buy on line from ticket holder thru lsu. Not worries about getting the shaft and print your ticket on your computer. Print yourself a seating chart so you can see where seats are located. Pay face value for tickets but can find great seats.

Tickets haven't been hard to get since 2001.
