IOU a Kayak
quote:
One Biloxi man took a kayaking trip out on the Gulf this past Monday, but the adventure didn't end as he had planned. Rikki Callegari was the victim of a "kayak jacking."
quote:
He kayaked out to Deer Island around 11 a.m. and did some beach combing. The trip back is what caught him off guard.
"About 4:30, 5 p.m., I come back, come walking up with my haul and it was just gone," said Callegari.
The kayak was missing, and Callegari was stranded.
"No boats out there, nobody else. I was out there by myself," Callegari said.
Luckily, his phone had just enough battery to call the Biloxi Police Department, who quickly sent a boat to pick him up.
quote:
While he was waiting for his ride, something else caught his eye. Along with his life jacket and cooler, whoever took the kayak left something else in the sand.
"When I was walking up, there was actually writing all along the beach," said Callegari.
The first thing he noticed was the message, "I O U a Kayak." Next were the names Katie, Raelyn and Eric. It wasn't much to go by, but at least it was a start.

Judging by the hand writing. Looks like teenagers. That yak gone.

He should have pulled the key while combed the beach.

Well it is southern Mississippi so probably several Raelyns.
Does Raelyn have any FB friends named Katie and Eric??

It's a unique name and local to that area so I'd be willing to put some money on it, plus there are a Katie and Eric in her friend list.
They are going to be mad at her for having such a unique name.
They are going to be mad at her for having such a unique name.

Or mad at themselves for being idiots and leaving a note with their names on it at the crime scene.

Give them a week to drown in a kayak.
