The Yankees' Home Opener will see a Core Four Reunion , as Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera will throw out the first pitches to Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada.

Kuroda will look to rebound after a so-so start against Houston in his first game out.

Yesterday, Jeter passed Paul Molitor to move into 8th-place on the all-time hit list.

CC Sabathia says he may no longer be the ace of the staff, but he's still got plenty left in the tank.

Over the weekend, the Yankees placed Mark Teixiera on the 15-day DL with a right hamstring strain.

I'm loving Ellsbury in the 3-hole, and Solarte will have to keep playing every day as long as he stays this hot. Kelly Johnson at first base today. I'm really excited about the rotation, too.

Yankees Lineup

Brett Gardner LF
Derek Jeter SS
Jacoby Ellsbury CF
Carlos Beltran RF
Brian McCann C
Alfonso Soriano DH
Brian Roberts 2B
Kelly Johnson 1B
Yangervis Solarte 3B

RHP Hiroki Kuroda

Series pitching match-ups:

Today

vs.
RHP Ubaldo Jimenez (0-1, 6.00)

Had an amazing spring and won a roster spot over Eduardo Nunez, who ended up getting designated for assignment.

Got a few at-bats in Houston and impressed. And now with the injury to Teixeira, and Johnson's ability to play first base, will probably be a regular for the next few weeks and beyond.

The 26-year old infielder was signed by the Twins in 2006, but released twice since then before hooking up with the Yankees this offseason. He has a .286 average during his minor league career, with 41 homers and 312 RBI to go with 185 walks to 263 strikeouts, good for a .336 OBP and .733 OPS.
Solarte played mostly second base last year, but still did a chunk of work at short and third, and even logged six appearances in the outfield at Class AAA Round Rock. And, while Solarte might not have the luster of a top prospect, he does have the appeal of a Mike Aviles, along with a similar skill set.

I stacked my DFS lineups with Yanks and Orioles seems Vegas doesn't trust Kuroda or Jimenez.

Jeter with his first GIDP of the season, resulting in a run.
