Apparently, they has a really shitty performance in the Algarve Cup a month or so ago, but why fire him in the middle of this run of friendlies and not immediately after the tournament?

My best guess is they are worried about the WC and wanted it done as soon as possible.

I doubt they fired him just based on a 2 hour decision made today. This was probably a long time coming.

My point, was that something must have happened to push the decision over the edge. They still have another friendly to play before a break.
