In Houston they are running commercials for HEB with Troy Landry hawking crawfish. Thought it was weird when I first saw it. Guess HEB wanted to try and make it seem like they are the go to place in Texas for crawfish.

Did they season the outside. Don't let the food board know if they did seeing they see it as blasphemy.

I heard that dude is the king of spillway crawfish in LA so not really weird if true.

ETA: He is probably supplying them is what I am saying.

We buy most of our live crawfish from HEB. They usually have good quality.

It's just weird he is on a commercial for a store that is only in Texas hawking LA crawfish.

I've always heard he is a multi-millionaire off of his crawfish business and does the gator hunting for fun and tradition.

Family money as well

Eta: there's no money in gator hunting at current prices unless you can convince a Yankee to pay big money to shoot one

HEB is a very good grocery store in Texas. Shop there ever week and missed it a lot when I was at school at LSU. They likely have solid quality crawfish because most of their stuff is.

Lived in San Antonio for several months and LOVED HEB. There is nothing in Louisiana close to it.

My brother still lives there and gets crawfish from HEB once or twice a year (live). Says they are good size.

I hated the grocery storers in Louisiana. I always just went to Super Wal mart. They have Winn Dixie and Albertsons too. Both are crap.

Don't let the Nolatards catch wind of this foolishness. Rouse's is the best grocery store in the history of grocery stores.

I never noticed when I lived in town and was close to specs, but HEB has a legit beer and wine selection as well.

The newer Rouses are probably the closest thing we have to an HEB. And it's not even that close. However, the Rouses on Carrollton is somewhat, somewhat, kind of like a Central Market. Kind of.

HEB is the thing I probably miss most about living in Houston. I've even written them several times begging them to expand here. They actually had a store in Lake Charles some time ago, from what I understand.
