After AJ's sensational finish in the Arkansas game, I couldn't figure out why our Coaches didn't want to allow him to throw against Iowa who was stacking the box and daring us to pass. Now it all makes perfect sense. They understood something that the rest of us didn't, namely, that AJ just isn't there yet in the passing game. He reminds of JJ in that he seems confused and doesn't have the judgment--doesn't know when to throw it away and avoid the sack--how to read the defense and change the play at the line of scrimmage--when to scramble for big rushing gains (when defense is spread out often because it rushed the passer aggressively and didn't get there). Unless he shows major improvements, Harris is The Man.

I hope he is the qb too but as soon as he throws that first pic vs Wisconsin everyone will be begging for Jennings to come in and will say harris is the next jefferson not Jennings

so, in theory, if Jennings wins the position, and plays well, can we bump these threads?

AJ just needs to be more confident. He needs to bite the bullet and ball. He's the only one holding himself back.

Really dude? I mean who ever heard of the coaching staff knowing more than a fan?
Positively monumental observation.

The reason the coaches didn't want AJ to pass in the Cap One Bowl against Iowa was Jennings was in the fourth grade then....

I thought they let him throw a lot early in the bowl game , but got run heavy when AJ missed targets and threw ints... the game plan wasn't conservative but the coaches made the adjustments that was needed....

thought everyone said he had confidence. Mental aspects are vital, if he doesn't have that, he is never going to get it.

he didn't pass at least the first 2 drives. not necessarily a bad thing as we ran it down their throats on the first one. after that he got to pass, and it was hit or miss - mostly miss.

that said, you take into acct his attempts, his sacks taken, and the fact that they prob weren't trying to put too much on a first time starter, I still think they called a pretty good amt of pass plays.
