Bro I agree. Rettig will not get a fair shake. To much upside for Harris and Jennings. The ole potential vs. reality argument ie. rg3 or Andrew luck debate. Rettig dropped the snap on his first play, but remained cool and collected and connected on a beautiful (and difficult)sideline pass. But like I said....he's doomed in our system....

Why do people think rettig isn't getting a chance? Also what evidence do people have that think rettig is the answer? Why is he compared to mett? Skin color?

If the coaches didn't want to give him a chance why the hell recruit him and waste a scholarship? If he was the answer the coaches who get paid millions would recognize it. I find it mind blowing that people have seen nothing from rettig but can claim he is the best of the three and think he is just getting screwed over.

How can he be regressing since he hasn't played enough for us to even begin to evaluate him???

He won the Arkansas game, he played on a wet field in a bowl game vs. the 7th rated D in college football in a game we won, and he started a spring scrimmage. How anyone can come up with regression give that ridiculous small sample of play is beyond me.

I don't give a flying flip who starts. I figure Cam will have evaluated both guys for the spring/fall and go with the guy who affords LSU the best chance of success.

I don't understand the need to rush to judgment on either guy, but each to our own.

look no one (fans) has seen enough of any of the qbs to say who should start , but its obvious that the coaches are pushing for Harris to be the starter come august 31....

imo you have to start Harris even though there may be some growing pains , no way he sit behind AJ for three years .....

I agree they see him at practice every day and they see something that shows them he is not as good or not as ready as the other two...

but why when someone asks about him they get accused of being a racist ....man can we get over that stupid shite , I know there may be a few on here that only want a white qb but the race shite gets thrown in everyone's face that brings up rettigs name ...

if it were rettig and harris getting all the reps you would have just as many people asking about AJ ....

My favorite thing to read on the rant every year is everyone praising incoming freshman as the next great thing and then want to feed them to the wolves halfway through the season calling for a new QB.

First it was Lee, then it was Jefferson, then it was Mettenberger, then it was Jennings and now it's Harris.

The rant has a new favorite ghost QB every year that hasn't even seen the field yet. It takes one bad performance from their new favorite QB and immediately jump off he's the next god bandwagon calling for second string. It's really comical.

Well in my opinion, when the O has many questions in the Spring Game, it mean the D is back to LSU D Standards!! We just can't seem to have a great O and a Great D work out in the same year! One or the other!

Yea and everyone was praising Jennings as the future after last year's spring game and arkansas game. Funny how that works.

now realize I made that post on the assumption that the coaches think he is ......

1) playing better than AJ and HR

2) the coaches think he is the better qb going forward for the next few years of this program .....

meaning if they believe Harris is the guy don't sit him just because he is a freshman .......

Like I posted before I'm not there (and neither is most on this board ) to see what goes on every day , but judging from the practice videos , the spring game and the coaches pressers it seems like BH is better than the other two at this point .....

The backup is usually better but the coaches dislike him for some reason.

second part of your post is good. why recruit him so highly and not give him the opportunites given to the others? why bring him down here and not use him? He is NOT getting a fair shake no way.

Well, he looked all world against Arkansas..

then look bad after a month to prepare for the bowl game against Iowa... It was very disappointing.

LSU is craving for the QB that everyone in the country wishes they had.. Like a Winston...Winning the Heisman and MNC as a freshman... that's sick!

We've not a stud since JR and RP though I did love Mettenberger a ton.. He just lacked mobility and coach for 2 years.

If we want to enjoy Tiger football, we need a very good QB...very simple, the QB touches the ball on every play...so it's kind of important we get it right

The way I see it, if Harris can work on his touch, he will undoubtably win the QB position. And Jennings better look out b/c Rettig is nipping at his heels.

I don't have a horse in this race, but one thing people are missing is that the spring game was not a live fire type event. Defenses were not able to mix it up and gameplan for a QB. In that situation, the guy who thinks less and has the most raw ability is likely to shine. Put BH against a team that's really trying to trick him, making him pick up reads and make live fire decisions, and he might be completely lost.

Still, it's disturbing that AJ is struggling so much in these benign conditions. And it's encouraging to see the potential in BH. I believe it will be a tough year at QB, but the future is bright. All the stars are aligning for 2015.

And those on here who are pushing Rettig - that's sheer delusion. Rettig fell out of the QB race within a month of arriving on campus. The coaches realized that they had mis-evaluated the guy, and he'll never be a D1 QB.

That's a lie. When Jennings came in last year and beat out Rettig, Bolden, and Rivers, how much of the "is Bolden hurt, where's Bolden, he's not getting a fair shake" comments did you see? First it was Rivers not getting a fair shake last year and all the way up til he decided to transfer this year, then when Harris beat out Rettig, he's automatically not getting a fair shake. It's easy to spot that man.

It's like people haven't realized that besides Bama, no other team has won the NC without a very mobile or dual threat QB since 2004. Hell, the majority of the teams in the NCG the past ten years, we're helmed by a highly mobile or dual threat QB. It would seem to me that fans would want that in addition to a great passer.
