Haven't been in the woods since Sunday. Hoping to get a few decent hours before the wind picks up and the rain backs up, but the wind is already whipping.

Wind blowing it's arse off here. Was outside drinking my morning coffee. A bit nippy too! Just north of Baton Rouge.

Fighting the wind. Hunted in the thunderstorm yesterday. Called one up for a guy. I don't have a pic, I'll see if I can get one from him. 2 yr old. Gobbled at thunder for an hour while I got that old man around him. Killed him at 9:00. Got on another at the tail end of the weather (around 10:30), but he quit gobbling when the thunder stopped. Found him in a clear cut around 2:00 and I belly crawled in the mud (I was already soaked and covered in red clay) within about 75yds until a hen fed up to about 6 ft from me and busted me. That's the way it goes sometimes.

Got a sure enough wickerbill with me this morning. If I put this guy within range of a turkey I deserve a fricking medal. I just had to scour my toolbox to find him a hat that wasn't orange. Guy talks a lot and smokes. Cousin's boyfriend who has a nice place I'm scouting for next week, when he's at work. Today might be a "you sit here in case he comes this way, I'm gonna go around and see if he goes this way" kinda morning.

Good luck and y'all be safe.

Left him by a tree. Slipping in on 2 in a field. I'm not askin if the fence was a property line.

Messed with a hen at daylight. She was pissed and ended up coming within 10 steps. I thought there would be a gobbler with her but she was by herself. To hell with this wind I'm going home.

Ten, may want to make sure his phone is on vibrate.

Asked him three times. Told him to make it where it doesn't even vibrate. Got 3 longbeards now in a 100 acre field. Left him with a decoy on edge. It's a good spot. Not fricking with him anymore. Might have to get creative. They just a strutting and gobbling still. Somebody has been fricking with these wild frickers. One flew into field at 6:35!

I'm doing the Geronimo sneak on em as soon as I can get around.

Went for a ride to check my hunting camp with the wife. Stepped out with my call and had 4 birds come running in. A first for the wife to see.

Last event for the day (couldn't talk him into sneaking in a field), on way home and he says "so the hens are like chickens and already have an egg, and the male just ferments it?"

Cannot make this shite up.
