Cajuns put another beat down on their opponent tonight. This time a conference foe at their place. UL had 19 hits on the night and Carson Baranik got the W to improve to 7-0 on the season.

Side note: Austin Robichaux was scratched from the rotation this weekend due to slight tendonitis in his elbow. Double Header tomorrow, Troy throws their Ace on Saturdays, 2013 Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year facing the Cajuns tomorrow at 3:00 on Cox Sports Television.

UL is now 28-3. 9-1 in Conference and 11-0 on the road.

31 runs over our last two games. They need to rest Austin until he's completely free of discomfort. Next weekend is UALR at home, we should be able to take care of them with Baranik, Wilson and Boutte.

I agree, no reason to risk a season long injury.

Hopefully by next weekend Milhorn will be able to throw out of the bullpen a little. UT Arlington would be a good weekend to return our regular weekend staff.

The one thing this does help with is getting other guys experience. Ben Carter got to pitch again today. With a double header tomorrow, we might see Toups, Plitt, Griffitt, Bazar and Hicks out of the pen.

We have another two midweek games next week so we'll need a full group of guys ready to pitch.

This set up pretty well for Troy then. They will have their ace vs. your #3. Sounds like a tougher game than people might expect. I wouldn't bet against those Cajun bats though.

Ryan Wilson was a Friday night guy for a lot of last season. He's not as good as Robe but I'm pretty sure that guy can do anything on a baseball field. I'm not worried about whether or not he'll put in a good performance.

Boutte is good for like 4 or 5 innings before he starts to fall apart so hope Wilson can eat up some innings to save the bullpen for game 2.
