My God. By far the best po boy I've ever had.

If you're in Lafayette and never had one I suggest you stop in during Lent while they're sold.

Murph (owner) definitely knows poboys and has made a killing with OTG.....also owns BJ's in Broussard

food is always consistent, fresh, and you get your money's worth

Many times I've recommended Olde Tyme.

Today, I was compelled to try the crawfish poboy.

It was perhaps one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. I took two bites, opened it up and found out why it tasted nasty. Either the oil was old, or the cook didn't know what he was doing, but either way I can't get the nasty burnt oil taste out of my mouth.

Shame on them for even serving this...pictures don't lie...

I had a feeling that question would arise. It was fifteen minutes before closing when I ordered it to go. I've been in the food industry long enough to know that anything ordered just before closing may not be as good as mid shift, however, this was absolutely nasty and unacceptable. I never had a chance to let management know since I took the first two bites after closing time. Not sure if it's worth the drive tomorrow to discuss the issue to barter for my ten bucks that I gave them for crap food. It is what it is.

yeah that looks like really bad oil. I have seen places oil get really bad late, and they don't want to add and drain right before close, because they have to filter and clean after close.

But that looks horrible. Crawfish is already cooked, so it takes a minute tops to fry.

I used to filter mine after a busy lunch. Most restaurants will go too long without changing their grease too which causes that problem also.

...and that's why Off The Hook was far above the rest.
