Light fuse get away for live stuff. Space Wrangler for studio

Eta: Panic in the streets is also awesome.

Slipping Into Darkness

I discovered that was a cover and have been trying to find a new favorite panic song since, no luck as of yet.

I don't get any sort of obsession with wsp. I'd say a few off of light fuse get away are really feel good songs. Nothing complex or intricate, just major chords usually 3 or 4 in the whole song. Great cover band though.

They just have a sound that a lot of people outside of this board really enjoy. It's not the most complex or intricate like you said but they put on an electric/energetic show and I think Houser was really unique and creative with his jams.

Go to panicstream.com and you can download tons of live stuff for free and put it on your ipod/iphone

Chilly Water
Climb To Safety
Red Hot Mama
Surprise Valley
Tall Boy
Fishwater
Driving Song
Aint Life Grand
Arlene
Better Off
Diner
Travelin' Light-great JJ Cale cover

Disregard the douchebags complaining about a band on a message board.

Good list. I'd add Papa's home, love Tractor, disco, Greta, Holden Oversoul, Barstools and dreamers, Rebirtha.

I was fond of Panic from late high school through my early to mid 20s (basically all through the 90s). I say fond because while I liked them and they put on a nice show the obsessed fans were annoying as frick. The band was great when they weren't noodling along drawing out songs for the benefit of doped out segment of the audience. Nonetheless, they are an unappreciated band and are really good to listen to from time to time. In short, they don't deserve the grief they get here.

I'd start with their self titled album.

As far as songs, the following are good ones to start off with:

Airplane
Walking (for your love)
C Brown
Barstools and Dreamers
Hatfield
Junior
Heroes
Fishwater
Diner
Blue Indian
One Arm Steve
Greta
Porch Song
Climb to Safety

...just to name a few

I'm one of those poster that enjoy Jimmy but I agree that for someone trying to get into Panic they should listen to 2002 and before. Mikey was and will always be WSP.
