I have a jeep that I am wanting to sell. I see values for it all over the board. What would be the best source to determine it's value.

probably worth more than you think, if it is in decent shape...

what sources have you tried for value?

Everyone on this board thinks you should give it away.

What condition is it in? Honest condition
The value on something like that varies vastly depending on condition and accessories

On a scale of one to ten it's a nine. 60k miles all original and clean. I'll post pic tomorrow.

Friend of mine just sold a 84 for 8k but it was about a 6/10

Is it a manual or automatic? Automatics are worth a lot more.

I am second owner. We used to use it on vacations and was towed behind a motorhome. Never used off road. Just used to cruise around. Have kept it all original. Straight six, 5 speed. No lift or aftermarket stuff.

So, it sounds like you have the 258 with the T5 transmission.

Have you modded it at all, or is it bone stock? Hard top or soft top?

The devil is in the details.

Awesome... I've had the same model for 26 years. I think the only stock part is the steering box.

Look at selectjeeps.com. They have a few listed. They buy, do light refurbish and resale.

I would think if it's all original and in good shape, you could ask 12k but I doubt you as an individual would get that much around here. The further you go west the more people will pay.

I might be interested. Has it been switched from carb to fuel injection? Any rust? Does it have a/c? Is paint original, or has it been painted? If you could, shoot me an email of where it can be seen. mudisland00@gmail.com

The best source to determine value would probably be craigslist ads or the classifieds section of jeepforum.com.

It's been a few years since I bought or sold a CJ, but I think 10K is being pretty optimistic. I don't know, maybe there's some people out there willing to pay that for a stock jeep, but 90% of people who buy jeeps want them for offroad, or at least to look like offroad vehicles. So, they buy one already modded, or if they want to mod it themselves, it really doesn't matter if it already has a lift and some mods. They're going to take it off anyway.

Just for reference, I paid about 10K around 4 years ago for an '82 that had been frame-off restored, was lifted, had new 35" nittos, and a built chevy 350, with a turbo 350 auto. It wasn't perfect, but it was a very nice CJ.
