Just switched from Cox to Direct TV in my home. Have the Genie on the main TV in the den. Two mini Genies on me and the wife's tv in the bedroom and our patio tv. I have 2 other bedrooms with tv's that now have no service at all. What is my solution? Would an antenna of some type work? I know I can add one more Genie but both bedrooms have to have the same channels to be fair to the 2 kids that stay in those rooms. I really don't need nothing elaborate. TIA

If kids are under 16, just leave the TVs unplugged.

Get more Genies.

I have the main one, plus four more. I had to pay $50 for one of them.

Are your children not worth the extra $50 bones?!?!

I have 3 TVs running off one Directv receiver. Each TV is in a different room and has it's own remote. All 3 TVs get what ever channel the receiver is tuned into. I seldom watch 3 TVs in different rooms at the same time so it's not a problem.

You could just mirror the signal of the one that's used the least

Either mirror or get extra genies. Call directv they may help you out on the cost of the extra 2 receivers.

The one for the patio could be moved in a bedroom and brought outside when needed.

Need some clarifacation. I knew I could get 4 total genies. 5 would accomadate what I need, so they would charge me an extra $50 a month for the 5th genie? Or a $50 one time charge and 8-9 dollars more a month?

You can have 4 genie mini's. So 5 total tv's. They will charge you for the extra mini's one time. I don't think I pay a monthly charge for the additional mini.

I didn't like the mini's I like each box to have its own tuner. Now I have one genie and DVR's in each room. They are synced in whole home now we can record 13 channels at once.
